Pre-Pointe/Men's Technique
Students will learn and practice foot and ankle strengthening exercises, barre work with emphasis on correct foot and body alignment, and center work. The perfect class for dancers looking to progress to more advanced levels of ballet technique. Students must be concurrently enrolled in Youth Intermediate Ballet or higher or any Adult Ballet class. May not be taken as a stand-alone class. Registration for Fall classes starts Monday, August 18 at 10:00am for Norfolk residents (August 25 for non-residents). Classes are marked Unavailable until registration begins.
Attire for Youth Ballet: Girls-Leotard, optional tights/leggings. Pink or skin-toned ballet slippers. Boys-Fitted tee shirt, bike shorts/leggings/boys tights, black ballet slippers. Long hair pulled off your face and neck. No baggy or oversized clothing or warmups. Please do not wear ballet slippers outside of the studio. Instructor: Melanie Ortt. Pre-pointe students should wear ballet slippers in class. Pre-pointe dancers should NOT purchase pointe shoes without permission from the instructor. ALL pointe shoes must be checked by the instructor before being sewn.
